Even though I haven’t covered insurance in a while, it’s still one of the biggest unresolved issues for drivers right now. In my mind, the coverage isn’t the problem though, it’s the fact that almost all personal insurers will drop you if they discover that you’re a rideshare driver.
In my New Year’s Survey, almost 84% of you indicated that you had not told your insurance company that you drive for Lyft or Uber. And for good reason too! If you do decide to spill the beans, you’ll most likely get dropped from your policy.

This obviously creates a huge problem for drivers because we are basically being forced to lie to our insurance companies. Now if it’s the difference between driving or not driving, I’m willing to take the risk. But over the past few months, we’ve seen a slew of companies popping up that are starting to address this problem.
