Harry here with another update on sign-up bonuses. Last month, we saw bonuses take off on both platforms in many cities across the US. This month, it seems like Lyft is still hungry for more; Uber bonuses continue to be a bit more hit-or-miss, depending on where you live.
If you’re already driving for both platforms, you can also earn these bonuses by referring new drivers. If you’re in a particularly lucrative market, be sure to stay up-to-date on bonuses in your city – they can be a valuable recruiting tool to help you earn those referral payouts!
In case you missed them, here are our last few sign-up bonus posts:
Lyft: Strong Bonuses In Many US Cities
If you’re new to the rideshare business, it’s usually a good idea to sign up with Lyft first – and now is a great time to do it. If you’ve been thinking about joining the industry for a while, you can take the first step right now: Click here to start your Lyft driver application. When you do so, you’ll be eligible to receive a bonus up to $750 or even $1,000 if you live in select high-demand cities like San Francisco or New York.
Keep in mind that you’ll have to complete a certain number of trips in your first 30 days – but even if you don’t continue, the bonus is well worth the time! Below, you can find the full list of bonuses for each city, straight from the Lyft website:
Uber: Your Mileage May Vary
Unlike Lyft, Uber doesn’t publish a list of bonuses by city – but that doesn’t mean they aren’t still offering some great bonuses, up to $500 in busy areas. To find out the current promotions available in your city, send a quick note to email@example.com.
The best one is their so-called Lyft-to-Uber bonus, so be sure to ask about that one if you’ve already got some Lyft rides under your belt. Typically, you’ll have to submit a payment statement from Lyft, and show you’ve completed a certain number of Lyft rides – usually 45. In addition, you’ll also have to complete a certain number of Uber rides after you sign up. To start the sign-up process and earn your bonus, click here.
Signed up recently, but didn’t use a referral link or code? Good news: In most cases, Uber will let you apply a referral code retroactively for up to 15 days after you’re approved to drive. If you’d like to use me as your referrer, shoot me an email and I’ll get you the info you need ASAP.
Uber seems to like the results it’s had lately with hourly guarantees, so they’ve been continuing to employ them in most US cities. If you’re already signed up, keep an eye on your email and Uber app for info about guarantees during busy hours and special events – but keep an even closer eye on the fine print, since some of these guarantees require you to opt in.
Usually you’ll have to complete a hefty number of rides in a specific timeframe to earn the bonus. If you’re able to opt-in and meet those requirements, you can definitely make more with these bonuses than you might otherwise!
Uber is continuing to push its food delivery service, UberEATS – so keep an eye out for that sign-up offer in your Uber driver app. After you accept the invite, you’ll need to watch a brief training video and put down a small deposit (under $20) on an insulated carrying bag, then you’ll be ready to accept delivery requests in your regular Uber app. The per-mile rates for UberEATS are actually better than UberX in most areas, so this is definitely worth jumping on if you’re invited to participate.
Diversify With DoorDash
If you’re looking to diversify your income, or just need a break from the rideshare scene, food delivery is a great way to do it – and you don’t have to wait for an UberEATS invite either. With DoorDash, you’ll be responsible for collecting food items from restaurants and delivering them to local homes and businesses. Unlike Uber, DoorDash lets your customers tip you, which can make it a pretty profitable gig depending on what type of orders you get. There are other perks too, like hourly guarantees during busy hours – not to mention total freedom of choice with regards to your AC and music selection!
DoorDash sign-up bonuses seem to have been ticking up lately, with offers of up to $100 in an increasing number of cities. To find out the current bonus in your area, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or click here to sign up for DoorDash using our affiliate link.
Postmates Bonuses Up To $200
Another major player in the delivery game is Postmates. This month, Postmates’ sign-on bonuses remain high – up to $200 in some cities. This is another great way to dip a toe into the delivery waters. If you’ve already delivered with Uber or DoorDash, Postmates will be a piece of cake. Go ahead and grab those bonuses by using this link to sign up for Postmates.
