Earn Money While Playing Games With MyFreeApp

MyFreeApp is an app discovery app. Let’s say app a few more times! App, app, app. Ok, we’re done…just kidding!

So, MyFreeApp will pay you to try out other apps. It’s hard to find legitimate apps that actually do pay you for your trouble, but it appears that MyFreeApp is true to its word.

Signing Up for MyFreeApp

Now, the signup process for MyFreeApp is simple, but not everyone is going to be comfortable with it. To start, you earn $0.05 for verifying your email address. Easy.

Next, they ask for your ID. Personally, I’m not comfortable sharing my ID with an app that I know basically nothing about. Plus, my hands are always really shaky, so I couldn’t get a clear photo of my ID.

So, for now, I skipped that portion. I’ll find out as I go if I actually need that in order to get paid.

Finally, as with most apps, you can refer your friends and get rewarded for that. I know most of my friends would immediately say no to something like this, so for now, I’ll just explore the rest of the app.

Finding and Using Apps for Rewards

On the homepage, you can find a list of Featured Apps, Games, Apps, and All Offers to choose from. All have a dollar amount listed. I’m assuming this is how much you can earn if you follow the prompts that are given.

I’m going to start simply by clicking on the USA Today app. I like their crossword puzzle, and I know it’s an app I would get some use out of.

Once I start the process, it looks like I have 30 days to complete the task(s) to earn up to $2.25. The more tasks you complete, the higher the rewards. It looks like I need to subscribe to USA Today for $1 for six months of digital access in order to gain my $2.25 reward.

To pay for my subscription, I have to create an account and enter my billing information, including my credit card number. I wish I could have used a service like PayPal or Zelle instead of inputting my actual credit card information.

After that, it’s unclear what I need to do next. The $2.25 is not immediately showing up on my MyFreeApp dashboard, and there are no prompts on the MyFreeApp dashboard or on the USA Today site. So, I’m just going to explore the USA Today app for a little while and see what happens.

I decided to work through the crossword puzzle, and after a few answers, I thought I’d pop back into the MyFreeApp dashboard. Sure enough, my $2.25 had been added to my $0.05 email verification total.

I now had $2.30 available to me. So, it’s time to keep exploring and hopefully earning without having to spend any more of my own money.

Next, I decided to explore some games because that seems to be where more of the money is. I chose something called Jackpot Winner because I like playing the slots, and it didn’t mention anything about spending my own money in the first few tasks.

MyFreeApp Game Example

When I clicked on “Start Earning,” I was prompted to download the Jackpot Winner – Slots Casino app, which I was able to do for free, though I did note there are in-app purchases that can be made. This app has decent reviews with a 4.9-star rating and 4k reviews.

As part of the tasks for MyFreeApp, I need to keep playing until at least level 50, but even so, the rewards I’ll receive for reaching level 50 are only $0.14. I played for an hour on my lunch break and reached a little past the halfway point.

I’ll work on it more when I’m done at my regular day job. But for wasting 2 hours of my time, I’d like to get more than $0.14 for that. Granted, I don’t get paid to do anything else like that either. But what I’m getting at is that it’s not a way to get rich fast or anything.

If you already like using these kinds of apps and play around anyway, then why not get paid for it? I don’t personally use many apps outside of social media. I’d rather spend my time reading or hanging out with friends.

I know my parents play slots on an app and receive nothing for it, so maybe I’ll suggest this to them, though I know as soon as you have to enter any kind of personal information, they’ll be a hard out.

Cashing Out

I do appreciate that you’re able to cash out with only $1 “banked.” For most apps like this, you have to have a minimum of either $3 or $5, from what I’ve seen and experienced.

I confirmed that you do need to validate who you are before you can cash out your rewards. I was finally able to get a clear photo of my ID and then take a selfie, and I was verified almost instantly.

From there, I chose an Amazon gift card and cashed out the $2 I had earned. Immediately, I got a confirmation and gift card claim code that I was able to put directly into my Amazon account. It is ready for me to spend when I want. Not too shabby!

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Cash out with as little as $1 in your rewards
  • Easy to use
  • Clear instructions for tasks

Cons

  • Takes a while to earn rewards
  • You may have to spend money to earn money, but the reward seems to be higher than what you’re being asked to spend

Final Thoughts

MyFreeApp is easy to use and fairly simple to earn rewards, but this isn’t something I’d personally be interested in in the long term.

People who like using these kinds of apps and gaining rewards will be happy to know that this one is a legitimate one that actually lets you cash in your rewards for gift cards.
