Requirements
To rent a Rideshare Carz vehicle, you must be 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. They currently have over 1000 registered drivers!
Availability
Rideshare Carz is currently only available in the Dallas/Fort Worth & Houston areas.
Efforts are being made to open in additional locations in the DFW metroplex and Austin, Houston and San Antonio starting in 2022.
How to Download and Get Started
Click here to download the Rideshare Carz app.
Then, to get started, create an account and enter your email address and create a password.
From there, it’ll ask you if you want to finish your registration or if you simply want to browse.
If you just want to browse, it’ll take you to a page where you can see all of the available vehicles nearest to you. When you click on a vehicle, it will automatically set the pickup date as today’s date and the drop-off date as two days out. You can change the drop-off date to any time as long as it’s at least two days after the pickup date.
At this point, you will see what the total cost to rent the vehicle will be as well as the daily rate. Before you can book a vehicle, however, you must complete the registration process.
To do so, go to your Account tab within the app. They will ask for your photo ID and proof that it’s really you. This proof is in the form of a biometric screening (aka a selfie).
After you prove you’re human and you’re you, then you’ll be asked to fill out basic contact info, confirm your driver’s license info and add a credit card for billing purposes.
And you’re registered! You can now rent a car.
You pay for the 2-days upfront at the start of your rental, then you pay upfront for however many days you choose to extend at the start of each extension.
Rideshare Carz allows individual daily extensions or discounted longer-term extensions to suit your needs.

Rideshare Carz offers rewards for drivers as well! If you rent for 3 days, you get the 4th for free for first-time renters. Also, Rideshare Carz offers a 10% discount for weekly rates as opposed to renting one day at a time.
Additionally, Rideshare Carz offers rental rewards for on-time payments and referral credit for referring new drivers. How that works is you refer other drivers and get a free rental day for each referral!
Who is Rideshare Carz Good for?
Rideshare Carz is great for people who don’t have access to a proper vehicle for use on ridesharing platforms such as Uber and Lyft. It’s also convenient because the car can be used for personal reasons, and it can be used for deliveries, as well. You can use the vehicle however you see fit.
The rewards offered right now are better than any other rideshare vehicle rental program I’ve heard of before. Getting a free day rental for each referral is huge. It’s also great that they offer on-site maintenance and customer-facing representatives to help with any issues that arise.
Another pro is the price point. It looks to be cheaper than most other rideshare rental programs I’ve seen, especially because tolls are included! With Rideshare Carz, there are no lagging toll bills that appear in the mail, as there can be with other rental companies. This makes a big difference in the price comparison to rental options for drivers.
This could make it a decent longer-term solution for people without vehicles as opposed to a short-term fix when your regular car is in the shop.
The biggest con at the moment is that it’s only available in the Dallas/Fort Worth & Houston areas; however, there seem to be plans to expand to other areas of Texas in the near future.
