Q: For the double-sided referral bonus, can I signup 5 ppl and get 5k? Is there a limit on the number of ppl I can sign up for the bonus?

    • http://www.therideshareguy.com/ The Rideshare Guy

Yep, there is no limit to the amount you can earn.

Here’s a video I just posted with more details: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_rtV4-zABKY

        Couple questions for you Harry:

        1. So I just signed up (but I need some time to clean my car, do the mentor ride, wait for background check to clear, etc). In the meantime can I refer other people using this $1,000 promo or do I need to wait till I am approved to drive before I can start referring people and racking up these $1,000 credits

        2. If I had a speeding ticket a couple years ago will this be an issue?

        • http://www.therideshareguy.com/ The Rideshare Guy

          1. You should be able to if your code is active.

          2. 1 ticket should be fine :)

          • HoKo

Gotcha, sorry if this is a stupid question but how do i check to see if my code is active/where do I find my code?

          • http://www.therideshareguy.com/ The Rideshare Guy

Log on to Lyft.com, log in to driver account (at the bottom) and go to driver referrals :)

Also, what does Lyft say about someone who lives just outside of San Francisco, but intends to drive in SF. Does the promo still hold? Does the person actually have to live in the promo cities?

    • http://www.therideshareguy.com/ The Rideshare Guy

I’m waiting for Lyft to confirm but as long as you select SF as the city you’re going to drive in, you should be able to list any address you want. If you want to be safe though, maybe you should use a friend’s address in SF or relative.

Question. So I signed up in Jan but haven’t given my first ride (for various reasons). Would this apply to me? Or did I need to sign up more recently?

    • JBoneyBonesMcGee

It doesn’t look like it but it only came out on 2/26 (the day after the day to sign in) and it took just about that long for me to get approved. So it seems odd. (And a girl could really use $1k right about now)

    • http://www.therideshareguy.com/ The Rideshare Guy

It is only available in certain cities as of right now.. https://www.lyft.com/drive/help/article/1859265

      • JBoneyBonesMcGee

Right. I’m in Austin, which is one of the cities

        • http://www.therideshareguy.com/ The Rideshare Guy

Looks like Austin is closed as of noon today..sorry about that :(

      • JBoneyBonesMcGee

Well hell. I only got your email at 11am. Oh well.

Hey Harry, so if I live in Orange County and I’m gonna sign up some friends and family do you think that an OC address would work for the referal? Another question: if my account is temporarily deactivated but I’m trying to get it back and I still have my referal code do you think I can still use it and get the 1000 bucks?

    • http://www.therideshareguy.com/ The Rideshare Guy

This deal is dead for LA but I would suspect the address doesn’t matter as long as you select an eligible city (for future ref) on the first page of the sign-up process.

I don’t think you’re eligible for new referrals if your account has been deactivated.

I’m curious to know how many of us immediately referred drivers who completed their mentor rides within a few hours of the offer being e-mailed but still haven’t been approved to drive. The one driver I referred could not have acted any quicker once the deal was announced but unless Lyft comes through with approval in the next few hours so that he can give his first ride, he (and I) won’t be eligible for the bonus.

    • http://www.therideshareguy.com/ The Rideshare Guy

I’ve only heard from two people first hand that have been approved to drive..out of many many people.
