GigU App Review 2026: Is It Worth It For Drivers?

A $20 ride can look pretty good when it first pops up on your screen. But how good is it after you factor in the miles, time, gas, maintenance, and where the ride actually leaves you?

That’s the problem GigU is trying to make easier for drivers.

The app gives rideshare and delivery drivers more information about incoming offers so they can quickly decide whether a trip makes sense for them. GigU is already available for Android, and now an iPhone version is on the way.

We took a closer look at how GigU works, its biggest features, and what iPhone drivers should know before the iOS launch.

What Is GigU?

GigU is an app designed to help gig workers evaluate incoming offers and make more informed decisions while driving.

A ride might show a decent upfront payout, but experienced drivers know that’s only part of the picture. Miles, time, expenses, pickup location, and destination can all affect whether a trip is actually worth accepting.

GigU provides drivers with additional information to consider before making that decision. The goal is to make it easier to look beyond the upfront fare and understand how an offer fits your own driving and earnings strategy.

How Does GigU Work?

GigU gives you more information about an offer while you’re deciding whether to accept it.

Instead of looking at the upfront payout alone, you can evaluate the offer based on numbers that matter to your own driving strategy, like earnings per mile, earnings per hour, and estimated net profit.

You can also set your own targets, so GigU’s recommendations reflect what you consider a worthwhile trip.

GigU Cherry Picker: Is This Ride Actually Worth Taking?

Cherry Picker is probably the GigU feature drivers will be most interested in.

When an offer comes in, Cherry Picker analyzes it against the earnings targets you’ve set and gives it a simple grade:=

🟢 Green: Good offer

🟡 Yellow: Think twice

🔴 Red: Probably skip it

That makes it easier to get a quick read on an offer without doing the math yourself every time.

And that math can matter. Two $20 rides can be very different if one takes 30 minutes and keeps you in a busy area, while the other takes an hour, adds more miles to your car, and leaves you somewhere you don’t want to be.

GigU doesn’t decide which rides you should take. You set your own earnings-per-mile and earnings-per-hour targets, and Cherry Picker uses those numbers to help you judge each offer.

Other GigU Features for Drivers

Cherry Picker is the main attraction, but GigU has a few other tools that can be useful while you’re driving.

  • Net Profit: Factors in operating expenses to give you a better idea of what you may actually keep from an offer.
  • Offer History: Lets you review previous offers.
  • Screen Capture: Saves offer information so you can reference it later.
  • Map Shortcut: Makes it easier to check pickup and drop-off locations.
  • Voice Notifications: Gives you offer information without requiring you to look at your phone constantly.

Together, these features give you more context around the offers coming across your screen and a better record of what you’re seeing while you drive.

GigU Pros and Cons

Based on the features currently available, here are some of the biggest advantages and limitations we see with GigU.

Pros

  • Quickly see earnings per mile and earnings per hour
  • Estimate net profit instead of looking only at gross earnings
  • Set your own targets based on what makes a ride worthwhile to you
  • Simple green, yellow, and red Cherry Picker grades
  • Review previous offers with Offer History
  • Voice Notifications can reduce how often you need to look at your screen
  • Available to Android drivers now

Cons

  • The iPhone version isn’t available yet
  • GigU can give you more information about an offer, but it can’t guarantee that a ride will actually be profitable.
  • You still have to decide what makes a “good” offer based on your market, expenses, and driving strategy.

GigU Is Coming to iPhone

Until now, one pretty big limitation for iPhone drivers has been simple: GigU isn’t available on iOS.

That’s changing.

GigU is preparing to launch an iPhone version, bringing tools like Cherry Picker to iOS drivers for the first time. If you’ve wanted to try GigU but don’t use an Android phone, you can now sign up to get early access.

How to Join the GigU iOS Waitlist

GigU’s iOS waitlist is now open.

Drivers who sign up can get free early access to GigU for iPhone and extra points in GigU’s upcoming Loyalty Program. You can also let GigU know if you’re interested in beta testing the app.

And if you’re concerned about connecting yet another app to your gig accounts, GigU says it will not ask for your Uber, Lyft, or DoorDash credentials during signup.

GigU will be free for both Android and iOS till the end of 2026.

Is GigU Worth It For Drivers

If you already look at things like dollars per mile, dollars per hour, trip time, and expenses before accepting an offer, GigU could make the process much faster.

Cherry Picker stands out most to us because it takes numbers many experienced drivers already consider and puts them in front of you while you decide whether to take the trip.

That doesn’t mean every green offer will be perfect or every red offer should automatically be declined. Your market, driving strategy, current location, bonuses, and plenty of other factors can affect that decision.

But if you want more information than the upfront fare gives you, GigU gives you another way to evaluate what you’re actually being offered.

Android drivers can try GigU now. And if you want to be one of the first to try GigU on iPhone, join the iOS waitlist and get ready for the upcoming launch.
